We're excited to announce the start of Ostium's Shipping Season – a concentrated two-week period of significant protocol improvements culminating in our comprehensive V2 upgrade.

What's Coming

Over the next two weeks, we'll be deploying two major technical upgrades that enhance Ostium's core functionality and user experience:

Smart Contracts Upgrade (March 3)

The first major upgrade focuses on our trading infrastructure:
- Revamped fee structure: Lower and simplified fees across all trading activities
- Advanced trading features: Partial position closing, collateral management, and improved position controls
- Expanded markets: New global trading pairs including CAD/USD, DJI/USD, and more

Account System Upgrade (March 7)

Our second major improvement transforms how you interact with the protocol:
- Gasless transactions: Execute trades without gas fees
- Unified wallet experience: Use your existing wallet directly with Ostium (no separate smart account needed)
- Simplified 1-click trading: Streamlined position entry and management

A guided migration path will be available for all users in the UI to transition smoothly to the new account system.

The V2 Vision

These upgrades are part of a bigger picture. We'll soon officially be announcing Ostium V2 – the culmination of months of development work and user research. Beyond the core technical improvements shipping in the next two weeks, V2 includes:
